Here are some pitfalls you might encounter with RouterOS.
Well, right now, I have no vision how this document should be
organized nor if it's propriate. We'll see how it turns out.
# WPA/WPA2 and compression
It simply doesn't work in RouterOS 4.x, at least not in 4.0 and 4.4.
I've tested it with ROS4.0 against ROS4.4. I've tried various
combinations - AP bridge, station, station pseudobridge - nothing
(Note: I'm not interested into WDS).
All you get is that group key timed-out, unicast key timed out,
connection failed reason unknown - all intuitive messages
pin-pointing where is the problem.
So, if you want WPA/WPA2 don't turn-on compression at STA side.
Somewhat after-thought, it's probably understandable why it doesn't
work, yet does it struck you in the field when everything else
works, but this? No :) And by everything I mean connections MT-Linux.
